ESTRO-ACROP (The European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology – The Advisory Committee for Radiation Oncology Practice) has released a comprehensive guideline detailing the European recommendations for clinicians on the use of SGRT including guidelines that cover procurement, acceptance, commissioning, and QA of SGRT systems.

The ESTRO-ACROP guideline strengthens the message that SGRT is rapidly becoming a standard of care by helping to move to a consensus among SGRT users and facilitate a safe and efficient implementation and clinical application of SGRT. It’s the second major organization to issue guidelines for SGRT, following a report by the AAPM (American Association of Physicists Medicine) earlier this year, which contained guidelines for the clinical implementation and safe use of surface imaging.
