Catalyst - Evolution in 4D Treatment

Recent advances in treatment planning and delivery systems have led to consistently achieving optimal results. And now with the revolutionary Catalyst, you can get the same level of confidence when controlling the only remaining variable – the patient.

During treatment, patient breathing, as well as movements of the tumor or normal tissue can impact the clinical result by missing targets or causing extra dose distribution to normal tissue.

The Catalyst system is a revolutionary solution for Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT), coupled with application software optimized for workflow integration.

Catalyst offers a complete solution on 3D CRT, IMRT for online patient tracking before and during treatment delivery, thus ensuring the best possible therapeutic and palliative treatment outcome without non-prescribed doses. c4D software is integrated with major radiation therapy equipment suppliers to streamline workflow, including beam and couch control.

Benefits & features

Real time 4D SGRT Solution

  • Real time SGRT solution for the whole 4D treatment workflow, from Setup and Positioning to Intra-Fraction Motion Monitoring to Respiratory Gating Treatment.
  • Patented color map projected on patient body during setup for immediate posture correction by patient.
  • Respiratory gating treatment support.
  • Breath-hold, deep inspiration and coached/free breathing modes are all supported.
  • Optional audio-visual coaching helps the patient follow optimal breathing patterns. Patient baseline is calculated as an absolute parameter that can be used during treatment delivery.

High level of patient safety and comfort

  • Dose-free motion management
  • No markers on or around the patient
  • Audio-visual coaching through in-room speakers and video solution, assisting the patient to follow the optimal breathing pattern.

Sophisticated software to streamline the workflow

  • Multi-vendor interfaces have been developed to ensure a seamless clinical workflow, i.e. Varian TrueBeam, C-series; Elekta VersaHD, Infinity, Synergy

High productivity without compromising treatment quality

  • Potential to improve quality and speed of the positioning process, for example, extremity sarcoma
  • Non-rigid algorithm provides high accuracy and speed without extra time for ROI design.
  • Highly integrated QA/QC procedure – Daily QC within 5 minutes
  • Potential to reduce the frequency of other IGRT technologies

Selected specifications

  • Positioning accuracy: Within 1 mm for rigid body
  • Long term stability: 0.3 mm
  • Registration method: Real-time, non-rigid with deformable models for computing 6 DOF isocentric shifts
