C-RAD is developing an interface to Computer Tomographs of General Electric

C-RAD AB with its three fully owned subsidiaries in Sweden and three international sales companies are all active in the field of radiation therapy. The C-RAD Sentinel system will be interfaced to the General Electric CT machines. General Electric is one of market leaders in the diagnostic field.

The C-RAD Sentinel System is used for 4DCT applications and allows respiration controlled CT image acquisition.
The integration with CT machines from General Electric will allow prospective and retrospective CT image acquisition. The new 4D CT method allows increased image quality for tumors, which are moving due to respiratory motion. Patients with left sided breast cancer, lung and lever benefit from this technology. Advantages for the clinics are simplicity and workflow integration, patient and personal comforts as well as the full integration with the C-Rad Catalyst System for Free Breathing and Breath hold Treatments. C-RAD released in 2012 the unique Audio-Video couching functionality. This application will be compatible with the new GE 4DCT interface.

The Sentinel 4DCT technology is already sold and installed to hospitals which are using Philips, Siemens and Toshiba CT machines.

After validation of the GE interface C-RAD can offer 4DCT functionality to all users of CT machines from the big four in the diagnostic field, that means Philips, Siemens, Toshiba and General Electric.

The next step is to promote the new solution to clinical customers but also to the General Electric sales organizations.

Erik Hedlund, CEO of C-RAD AB:

“With interfacing to the four major CT vendors, we can offer respiration controlled CT acquisition to more or less all diagnostic and radiation therapy departments in the world. The new interface of the Sentinel system will be of great importance for the US market where General Electric is dominant. “
